Day 5/6 Barci nightlife

got a taste of Barci nightlife last night.
Cruising the streets with one of the friends Catie met here, we stumbled upon a cocktail bar modeled after American speakeasy. The front was a barbershop but a hidden door lead to the lounge.

This was after meeting Catie for a gourmet vegan restaurant.  Fresh food prepared with precision.   In the past two years, I’ve had maybe 6 vegan meals — including a vegan thanksgiving cooked by Cate not one was regretted. Not only do I enjoy the food but I get the ethos.  Give your body good food and walk more gently on the earth.   They say our parents are our first teachers. Kids are our teacher as we grow up.

Energy is almost back to normal with circadian clock inside me somewhat adjusted to getting up 9 hours earlier. But Cate and her friends are syncronized with the pulse of this Mediterranean vibe.  The or party continues after I bid my repast at midnight.

Thursday

Slept in until 8 am. Canby time: 11:00 pm
Went to a coffee shop across the street called Mr Robinson. Marveled at the owner effortlessly shifting between four languages.  We chatted in my nascent Spanish. Even joked a bit about him being a teacher to his new trainee.

Then to the train.  Or one of them.
I had gotten word that there would be a train strike on Friday when we planned to head down the coast to Valencia.   Rather elegant planned strike. Only a few trains was be affected.  However one was ours.  Yet I was assured we could get on another train an hour later.  This will be revealed tomorrow.

Cate is busy today so I’m at the Picasso Museum.  He grew up here and later returned with his Russiandancer muse. In fact I’m told he stayed with her in my building. Som Nit Born.  It is a vast collection houses in four mansions built between the 13th And 16th centuries. The buildings themselves are great works of mid evil craftsmanship.   He was a classicly trained artist who did extraordinary lifelike paintings.  But he found his voice. And founded a new way to lol at and feel art.
I paid particular attention to his single brushstrokes on some paintings. I Reflected how old my crude acrylic painting is mostly back-and-forth with brush strokes. I am excited to try this technique myself
