One of the reasons I decided travel insurance might be a good idea. (Yes this is the airline I have tickets with)

Oh well, part of a being a good traveler is being flexible.

As we used to say in radio, you only find out how good a broadcaster you are when everything goes to shit.

Four years ago I went on a journey for four weeks. Solo. To a place I had never been. 

Now I am two weeks away from a month in Europe. A place I went to once. Forty five years ago. When I was studying in London.

Four years ago I wanted to prove I could travel alone. And I wanted to grow. I’ve told my kids, it is in discomfort that we learn our best lessons.


















This time is different.

I won’t be alone. I am meeting Cate in Barcelona where she is completing a 90 day au pair gig. 

This time will be different in another way. Instead of seeking to find myself, I will be seeking for the sake of its own virtue.
